Morning Movement Class

And for good measure: a shot from our packed Morning Movement workshops, which allowed us to introduce artistic and movement concepts from artists’ work—bridging the gap between participants and audience throughout the week.

Continued Collaborations

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of returning to the studio to work on a project that began in Wellfleet. Switch is an ensemble improvisation that was created during Fleet Moves residency week last summer and performed at Wellfleet Preservation Hall. In September, we were given the opportunity to re-imagine the dance for an outdoor, urban setting.

Created while in residency for Fleet Moves Dance Festival, Switch:Street is a scored improvisation featuring Brandin Steffensen, Zena Bibler, Emma Hoette, Sara Gurevich, Rishauna Zumberg, and Jo Blake. Based loosely on the Pentamodal Duet, the score allows performers to navigate five basic modes of relation in different configurations to create 15 unique pairings that comprise a pentamode. The resulting abstract relationships within the composition are the focus of playful investigation.
